Jorjeana Marie is a professional storyteller.
Whether opening for Richard Lewis as a nationally touring Stand-Up Comic, writing on Disney’s Mickey and the Roadster Racers, or as a produced Playwright in New York City, her stories have been as varied as the lives she has led.
While living in Rome Jorjeana developed her first play "Ally, MaryJane and Me" - a solo show, which later won the NYC TheatreSlam. She adapted this for a full-length, full-cast play for Cobblestone Productions, which ran at the 78th Street Rep. In the days following September 11th, 2001, she penned "NY, I Love", also developed internationally and followed by runs in NYC, the Bahamas, Ashland, Oregon and Los Angeles.
As a member of the Neighborhood Playhouse Writer's Workshop she developed the one act F*** Fashion and her play "Last Call" was produced for a 9/11 Memorial. Her plays "Who's Your Honey” and "Special Delivery" were audience favorites for the prestigious and intense 24 Hour Plays during the NY Fringe Festival.
While developing as a stand-up comic in NYC and on the road, Jorjeana was invited to become a contributing writer for Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update. Her sketch show "Squeaky Clean" ran at various venues in New York for years with fellow funny peoples. Her most recent live show was performed at iOWest-a night of sketch, characters, wigs, animation, mixed media and fun.
Jorjeana works regularly with the charity Comedy Cures, volunteering her time writing and performing with fellow sketch and improv pros as well as the amazing kids at Paul Newman’s Double H Hole in the Wall Gang, Gilda’s Club, Sloan Kettering and anywhere else laughs are loved. In Los Angeles, she volunteers with Stage Pals and Young Storytellers helping kids write and perform plays and monologues.
In her time in LA, Jorjeana has been a regular performer at the Improv and Ice House and other comedy clubs around town. She is the host of multiple storytelling, stand-up and character shows and has written pilots, spec scripts, sketch shows and a lot of "Dear Diary" entries.
Also an award winning Voice Actress, Jorjeana's storytelling skills have been employed in narrating over 250 audiobooks for Penguin Random House, Harper Collins, Hachette, Audible, etc, which have earned her multiple Earphones awards, Best Voice of 2014, 2015 and 2016 and a prestigious Audie Award. Publisher Weekly calls her “Pitch-perfect.” Her voices can be heard on Travel Channel, Nickelodeon, Final Fantasy and hundreds of commercials.
Her training has been at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts (Scholarship in the Dramatic Writing Program), UCB-in NY and LA for improv and sketch writing, IOwest, Gary Austin, Beth Lapides and The Groundlings and with theatre icon Gene Frankel. She is laser focused on comedy and story and how to use improvisation within comedy stories. Eureka! She lives in Los Angeles and dreams regularly. Like, really regularly.
