You Have Questions. Past Attendees Have Answers!

There’s no getting around it. Committing to a writing conference takes guts. And a little bit of time and an investment of money. So we understand when people might be hesitant to pull the trigger on a ticket. Everyone has questions and concerns and everyone has different writing goals. So we thought the best way to address them about the upcoming Writer’s Digest Novel Writing Conference would be to share some of the most common questions we hear and, instead of having us blather on, share what past attendees have had to say about the subject.

Is this just a one-time thing? Would I ever want to go back?

“This conference was amazing. It was so informative and I got to meet some of the most wonderful people. I have already decided I'm going again . . . and dragging a couple of friends with me.” – Erin S. 2016 Attendee

Will it really be helpful?

“I only went because of Paula Munier intensive but decided to give the full conference a chance after seeing the panel schedule topics - so glad I did! It greatly exceeded my expectations. I cannot thank you enough for the information from Whitney Davis and Christopher Rice on the craft of writing. Their words, along with the priceless tips from Paula Munier, still ring in my mind. Thank you a million times over for this incredible experience - life changing! (And feel free to quote me on any of this!)” – Jamie A. – 2016 Attendee

Huh, is this thing actually worth it?

“This was an amazing, informational, fun, and exhausting (in a good way!) weekend that provided excellent opportunities for networking and furthering my writing skills. The WD staff was without exception top-notch, as was the hotel staff. Please make this an annual event!” – Amy B. 2016 Attendee

I’m a beginner. Will there be anything there for me?

“As a first-time attendee who is just getting her feet wet in the writing world, this was a great conference! There was so much helpful information from the sessions I attended that inspired me and gave me a boost of excitement about writing. I can't wait to apply what I learned to my current drafts and future projects. I am looking forward to the next one.” – Lesley G. 2016 Attendee

Will it be awkward? Will I even meet people?

“I attended the WD Novel Writing Conference (LA) in October 2016. It was one of the best conferences I have attended. I have attended conferences for professionals in other fields for over 30 years, and this one stands out. I felt the range of coverage, the attention to detail, the support of the staff, and the "generosity of spirit" of the presenters was impressive. I felt like I connected with my tribe.” – Linda H. 2016 Attendee
